The aim is to get better <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lightness_%28color%29">values</a> by doing so, which is brilliant in theory, but I&#8217;m not used to painting this way. I used to avoid this method because the common methods of colouring greyscale images tend to result in a muddy palette with minimal variation.</p>
<p>My process is also partially figuring out how to colour a greyscale image without completely repainting the image.</p>

<p>I believe some pros paint the majority of the image then add extra details like plants or other small vibrant features after doing a basic colour pass on the greyscale image. I did this for the flag and material.</p>
