Elevated walkway

This sketch is another attempt to start in greyscale. The aim is to get better values by doing so, which is brilliant in theory, but I’m not used to painting this way. I used to avoid this method because the common methods of colouring greyscale images tend to result in a muddy palette with minimal variation.

My process is also partially figuring out how to colour a greyscale image without completely repainting the image.

I believe some pros paint the majority of the image then add extra details like plants or other small vibrant features after doing a basic colour pass on the greyscale image. I did this for the flag and material.
