Girl with parasol colour study

I said the girl with the red parasol from the Guerilla Laneway Exhibition would be my next colour/lighting study, and here it is.

Guerilla Laneway Exhibition timelapse

Who’s that sexy man in the preview frame? He appears to be holding one of my artworks.

Actually I feature pretty heavily in the start of this since I put my artworks up just above the crotch-level camera then loitered around chatting to various art-istes and designers.

Also note the subliminal Summer advertising around 0:19. ha

I don’t even remember who held the flyer. Probably Jeremy (the man behind this awesome video!)

I found it interesting to frantically pause-play this video and check it out frame by frame. It’s a great cross-section of the day, and there were a few things that stood out. Read the rest of this entry →

Modern day red riding hood

I’ve been digging through my archives today to add more design and concept work to my folio. It’s pretty much only my exhibition related work at the moment, which doesn’t really sell me for freelancing.

Anyway, while I was looking through old sketches I found one I’d half scribbled down for an ancient Character of the Week topic. It looked kinda cool in the thumbnail so I opened it up, fixed the face, added a few more details and here it is:

You may remember I did a red riding hood print for Clothespeg III, which sold in both the Sydney and Perth exhibitions. I’m not sure what it is about the concept of red riding hood all grown up, but it does have a certain charm.

So, after this 2 part series you practically know everything about me!

If you wish to write my biography then be my guest! Be sure to include the part where I rode a dinosaur over Corinne Grant’s lawn. And face.
