I haven’t added this to my folio yet, but here’s another one of the Apple Cider Tea Party artworks for those who didn’t make it to the exhibition. It seemed to bring out a sense of heartwarming nostalgia in a lot* of people.
I loved my blue BMX. Back-pedal brakes are awesome!
I’ve just realised I told some people I wasn’t in any paintings (since my family featured heavily), but uhhh… Yea, that’s Batman.

I did this piece a few months ago. It was originally intended to be in the Apple Cider Tea Party exhibition but I decided not to include it. Even though I wanted to represent something positive it turned out looking far too morbid. Driven by subconscious processes, no doubt. It didn’t fit with the overall feel I wanted to give the exhibition. Consider it a one-piece prelude to ACTP.
My first solo art exhibition!
Just over 2 weeks ago I was offered a cancellation slot at HQ’s gallery for this Friday (25th). After brief paralysis from the daunting prospect of doing all my marketing/promo and finishing the exhibition* in the space of 3 weeks, I snapped to, and the only thing holding me back was myself. So here I am, it’s the week of my opening and everything’s falling into place.

*Most artworks were about 90% done at the time, a few were yet-to-be-made.

I don’t really have time for a daily sketch while I’m finishing off Apple Cider Tea Party art (aiming to get the remainder into print this week), so I’ll just post another piece that’s going into the exhibition!

I’m working on rebranding myself. I’ll have new business cards and all for this exhibition! I might even make some for Facepocalypse, too.

In other news I’ve been doing the talky talk and maily mail around Perth trying to acquire some coverage. Also, a very giving friend in the arts management realm has helped out a bit and proof-read/edited my press release. Thanks, Lauren!

The content will be somewhat varied in subject matter, but the overarching theme is a commentary on life and mortality. I’m really pushing my work conceptually from the last exhibition.
