Funnily enough, my Anzac Day public holiday included a handful of stereotypes. I didn’t realise my family were so typical. Well no, I did, and I might quietly like it.

My day consisted of a BBQ lunch and boozing at my aunt’s, including a few of their friends and neighbours’ families. This was followed by an extensive, all involved game of cricket in the park, along with some frizbee and boomerang throwing. For any international readers; boomerang throwing is a typical passtime, every Australian owns one and uses it regularly. Mostly for hunting.

But srsly, I don’t know anyone else that owns one, my dad just went through a brief phase of making them some 10 years back.

I guess the outdoor culture is something I consciously don’t want to lose, since I spend most of my days working at a computer. I like being active, and personally think it’s valuable for kids to be active when growing up.

In other news, my youngest cousin (16) got a swish Washburn acoustic guitar for her birthday, which I was playing around with at lunch. Very nice sound, much better than my crappy learner Yamaha. One of these days I’ll buy a decent guitar :>
