Seeing red

Today’s sketch didn’t start with any particular direction.

Things in the back of my mind:

The conclusion of the exhibition and my experience with HQ, a discussion with Nick about an artist that presents photographs with their basic colour palette, and the thought of doing a series of abstract landscapes.

I like how you’ve integrated more design elements – it feels like a real merging between your two styles (doodle, paint) and your design sensibilities (especially colour).

Your colour sense is very strong and you have personal colour preferences which are as much (if not more) of a signature as your painting style and iconography. I’d be interested in seeing even more minimalist work – just focussed on colour choice and placement within a composition.

Oh, and the blog I was talking about is: http://color-stripes.blogspot.com/ ;)
