One spillage, three extremities

I’ve always found human behaviour pretty interesting, and an occurence this eve made me think…

I went to see a sweet local band called The Preytells, who I’ve been following since they started gigging some years back. They were playing at the Republic, which is evidently a part-time strip joint, littered with poles – not all of which suspend the roof. Anyway, after the bands finished a DJ started spinning tunes and groups of people were dancing throughout the room. I was making my way out,  completely sober, and saw a sizeable gap between a few girls at the outskirts of the dancing mob. I stepped into their midst and one danced out in front of me obstructing the gap, so I stopped. Next thing I know her drink is down my shirt and her glass shattered on the floor. It was the diversity of reactions to this that interested me. Read the rest of this entry →

Tales of Thailand

As some of you may know, for the past 10 or so days I’ve been in Thailand. A handful of ex and current Interzone employees made the venture over to Bangkok for Nick and Heidi’s wedding last weekend. And by wedding I mean Lustral Ceremony.

bangkok035

It all went smoothly and I’m sure Nick and Heidi will enjoy sorting through the million or so photos taken by their paparazzi crew. I haven’t been to a wedding before but it felt like a disco with the strobelight consistency of flashes. That’s normal, right? Either way, I thought it was apt to swing my jacket around while dancing on the chairs. Other people thought it was less apt. Read the rest of this entry →

Concept art + graphic design portfolio

My portfolio is up and kicking… I’m still gradually adding bits and pieces of work but all the Snapshot exhibition art’s up there. If you didn’t make it along to the gallery go have a look-see.

Being based on a blog template you can also subscribe to my portfolio and track when I add new stuff! Which should be soon… Well, after Thailand.

Chiang Mai adventure!

tathtn

Just tentatively booked (waiting for confirmation of placement) the Chiang Mai Hilltribes Trek for myself and Matt Stentipwn. I’m amped, it should be awesome. I have nothing but praise for GAP Adventures after my tour in Peru – our guide was great, and incredibly proactive. His full-time job being to make sure the tourgroup were looked after and had a good time. Takes a lot of hassle out of travelling, and is a weight off my mind knowing accommodation, airport transfers and the majority of meals are taken care of by people familiar with the area.

Anyway, to reiterate my vacation schedule; I’m leaving for Bangkok this Tuesday (12th) afternoon, where I’ll be joining up with some other Interzoners in Thailand for Nick‘s wedding on Saturday (16th). Then onwards to Chiang Mai on the 17th and back to Perth via Bangkok on the 22nd, arriving home on the 23rd.

Snuggie will consume you and your loved ones

This link was sent to me by my fine frand, Perrin, after seeing an Australian version of this ad circulating our television networks. Check it out, in all its glory: the Snuggie.

This garment is clearly a very clever way to commercially propagate cultwear. I’m almost tempted to join the Snuggie alliance, purely because of its functionality. And fashion appeal!

An Orange restraint

I started playing Team Fortress 2 this week, in the form of maybe an hour or two in the evenings. I’ve consciously avoided getting hooked on ‘unfinishable’ games for awhile now, but as I posted a few weeks back Orange Box was on sale for US$10. That’s how much I typically spend on lunch! Omegling

Jack posted about Omegle yesterday, where “you are put into a 1 to 1 instant messaging conversation with a stranger, anonymously.”

I thought I’d try it out, and my first real conversation (after being put with someone that just quit straight away) went as follows: Read the rest of this entry →

Ellen Degeneres is a winner

I just caught a bit of the Ellen show, as I sometimes do while eating lunch, and after every time I’ve watched it I’ve wanted to praise her for bringing something that’s actually entertaining to the midday slot. She is so savvy and hilarious, especially when she’s griefing guests. Unfortunately, I can’t find the clip from today’s on Youtube, but she had a woman on pimping her ‘alternative household cosmetics’. Read the rest of this entry →

Had to post this. I lol everytime I watch it, it is quite worthy – makes me want to play around with Auto-Tune.

I can’t take full props though, Felix put me onto this but it’s spreading like wildfire. Enjoy.
