The exhibition draws near

Well… as I write this on a Thursday night with paintings to sign and bubblewrap, handouts to print, and eyes beckoning for closure, and when people ask whether I’m excited the response is usually, “Yea, I guess?”

I’m so apathetic that when an ex told me she got 100% for an essay at uni I said, “Hey, that’s alright!” At the time, we were dating, but it was all downhill from there. Yep, that was the pivotal moment. No, not really. I jest, but that was my reaction, followed by a prompt lol@what I’d just said and a self-mocking followup in the fashion of “~That’s alriiiight~, yea you know, it’s not humanly possible to do any better, but that’s alright. ”

I learnt a lot from that relationship. Such as not to miss your cues.

I think I was most excited about the exhibition when Poppy offered me a brief stint in the YMCA Headquarters gallery at short notice, after inquiring about it to find out it’s booked out until next February. Thanks, Poppy! Since then it’s mostly been head down hard work, but it’s rewarding. I picked up a set of the canvas prints today and they look awesome-slick.  Fitzgerald Photo Labs did an epicgood job. They’ve definitely secured my business.

I imagine the next bout of excitement is near, and will wash over me like a sea of people entering a relatively cosy gallery space.

Let’s make it happen, sea of people!
