Bubblewrap and its lack of cooperation
I can cross one thing off the to-do list for this eve. I deconstructed one bundle of bubblewrapped canvases put neatly together by a kind lady at Fitzgerald Photo Labs and signed the prints inside it. I then decided to rewrap this bundle before unwrapping and signing the next. This was the wisest decision I’ve made all day, purely because it reminded me of how severely lacking my wrapping skills are.
If anyone’s received a Birthday gift from me, chances are it wasn’t wrapped. But if it was, I’m sure you can attest to the fact that I shouldn’t legally be allowed to combine the following in any order: an object, wrapping paper and sticky tape. This applies tenfold when you replace wrapping paper with bubblewrap. The one bundle I’ve rewrapped resembles what I imagine you’d get if you put 4 canvases, a massive sheet of bubblewrap and 5 rolls of stickytape in the washing machine and then left it on spin cycle for an hour.
However, if it’s any consolation that bundle is super-safe. The rest will be unwrapped and signed on-site.
